Scouts BSA Troop 7253

Dear Prospective New Troop 7253 Families:
Welcome and thank you for considering 7253 for your scout! A little bit about us. Troop 7253 was established in 2019 when young women had the opportunity to join Scouts BSA. If your scout is crossing over from Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA is different from Cub Scouts in that it is youth led. Adult leadership is on hand for guidance, but the scouts are in charge. In that respect, scouts are responsible for tracking their own activities. While parental involvement is encouraged, scouting progress should be self-motivated.
The boy and girl troops at KUCC are separate but linked through a shared committee. Due to overlapping leadership, many of the troops’ activities run concurrently. The linked troops meet on Monday evenings, 7pm at the KUCC unless otherwise noted. Committee meetings are the fourth Monday of the month. In addition to weekly meetings, there is at least one camping trip or weekend day activity per month. Attendance is optional but encouraged for completion of rank advancement activities. Summer camp is a big part of the program year. Troop 7253 attends week 4 at Camp Manatoc. We encourage every scout to attend.
If your scout is crossing over from cub scouts, you will need a youth application to transfer your scout. Any adult wishing to participate in camping or other planned activities must be registered with the troops and will need a transfer application or new application.
Thank you for considering Troop 7253 and we hope to see you in the future!
If you need assistance with any fees or cost of camp, please reach out to us.
